Prof. Wong's GPU computing course highlighted by Nvidia

Riverside, Ca –

Nvidia highlighted our undergraduate GPU Computing and Programming course (CS/EE147), developed by Prof. Daniel Wong. The blog post highlighted how NVIDIA Teaching Kits offered by the NVIDIA Deep Learning Institute are used and integrated into the university curriculum. This course teaches the basics of GPU computing, such as parallel execution models, parallel algorithms and performance optimizations. “Students know that the material we present is state of the art and up to date so it gives them confidence in the material and drew a lot of excitement,” Wong said. The course culminates in a final project where students apply their knowledge on projects ranging from fluid dynamics to deep learning. Many of these undergraduates continue on to pursue undergraduate research and graduate programs.
