UCR hosted The 14th IFAC Symposium on Large Scale Complex Systems

June 6, 2016

The 14th  International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) Symposium on Large Scale Complex Systems: Theory and Applications (IFAC LSS 2016) is a core triennial event of IFAC Technical Committee on Large Scale Complex Systems. The symposium discussed new developments in methodologies and techniques useful in handling complexity in analysis, modelling, control and optimization of large scale complex systems. The IFAC LSS 2016, organized by UCR, was held in WCH 205/206 on May 28, 2016. The symposium was mainly sponsored by IFAC TC 5.4 on Large Scale Complex Systems and Bourns College of Engineering, UCR (http://www.ee.ucr.edu/~ren/lss16/). Professor Wei Ren of ECE was the National Organizing Committee Chair and Professor Fabio Pasqualetti of ME was the Vice Chair. The symposium featured two keynote talks, one from Professor Guanrong Chen from the City University of Hong Kong, and the other one from Professor Jay A. Farrell from UCR. Both speakers are world-renown researchers in the field of large-scale complex systems and distributed control. Participants from the US, Europe, and Asia presented their recent research results on large-scale complex systems.
