Ph.D. Student Joshua Morales and Prof. Zak Kassas receive best paper award in ION GNSS+ 2015

October 9, 2015

Ph.D. Student Joshua Morales and his advisor Prof. Zak Kassas received the best paper award in the "Enhancing GNSS with Sensors, Mapping and Cooperation" Session at the 2015 Institute of Navigation Global Navigation Satellite System Conference (ION GNSS+) for their paper entitled "Optimal Receiver Placement for Collaborative Mapping of Signals of Opportunity." The paper establishes a theoretically tractable solution to the problem of optimal receiver placement to map an unknown signal of opportunity. The paper also quantifies the optimal estimation performance as a function of time and varying number of receivers.
