Two Ph.D. Students from VSCLab Receive Awards from Design Automation Conference (DAC2015)

May 15, 2015

Ph.D. student Hengyang Zhao received the prestigious Richard Newton Young Fellow Award from 52nd DAC and Design Automation Summer School hosted by ACM SIGDA. The Richard Newton Young Fellow Program offers travel grant and opportunities to participate in the EDA summer school at DAC, and to meet and network with EDA students and professionals at various points in their career. The program is named to honor of the memory of Dr. A. Richard Newton, a towering figure in EDA, DAC and education.

Ph.D. student Taeyoung Kim received the ACM SIGDA Ph.D. forum award from 52nd Design Automation Conference (DAC2015).  The Ph.D. Forum at the Design Automation Conference is a poster session hosted by ACM SIGDA for Ph.D. students to present and discuss their dissertation research with people in the EDA community. It has become one of the premier forums for Ph.D. students in design automation to get feedback on their research and for industry to see academic work in progress.

Taeyoung Kim also received the Richard Newton Young Fellow Award from DAC 2014, ACM Student Research Competition (SRC) award from ICCAD14.

Both Hengyang Zhao and Taeyoung Kim work in the VSCLab directed by Professor Sheldon Tan.
